Hedgehog Fibres, Tweedy DK: Hedgehog Fibres-Madelinetosh Collab -Future Reflections
Tweedy DK yarn is a unique and limited production offering from Hedgehog Fibres of Ireland where they collect the colored bits of hand-dyed yarn waste (in this case all the "waste" came from Madelinetosh's yarns) - the ties and bits that they take off the hand dyed skeins. They save them very diligently, send them to the mill to be carded, blended and spun into yarn again. It's total labour of love!
Because Hedgehog Fibres is always looking for ways to be more environmentally friendly and to minimise waste, on top of the thread waste they are using recycled wool, making 50% of the total content recycled. The resulting skein is soft, yet wooly. Not superwash and it blooms beautifully when hand washed. Grab one for a special hat or winter accessory, or several for a sweater.
Size: approx 251 yds / 100 gram skein
Content: 50% Falkland Merino Wool, 37.5% Recycled Wool, 12.5% Hedgehog Fibre thread waste
Gauge: DK weight. Skein not labeled with gauge.
Care: hand wash, flat dry
This yarn is very limited in availability. Please order plenty for your project.
