Manos Del Uruguay, Alegria Sock: Malvin 7105
Manos Del Uruguay, the Hands of Uruguay, is a non profit organization which assembles women in cooperatives scattered throughout the countryside of Uruguay. The aim of this World Fair Trade Organization is to bring economic and social opportunities to rural women.
Alegria ("joy in Spanish) is a wonderfully soft sock yarn handpainted to create a celebration of color in every skein. No two skeins are alike, and the picture shown is a representation of how your special skein could look, with more or less of each color.
Size: 445 yds/100 gram skein
Content: 75% superwash merino, 25% polyamide
Gauge: 7-8 sts = 1" on US 1-3
Care: Machine wash cool, dry flat
*1 skein makes one pair of socks.
*Each skein is unique, and no dyelots. So if knitting a larger project, Manos suggests purchasing all skeins at one time for a greater liklihood of blending well, and then alternating skeins every few rows.
